The Linton NW Substation was a greenfield 115/41.6kV project to serve Linton and surrounding areas. It consisted of a (5) breaker, (5) transmission line ring bus on the high side with lines from Bismark, Wishek, (2) circuits from a nearby wind farm and a future line. The low side was also a (5) breaker, (5) distribution line ring bus configuration with lines to Hazelton, Linton, Sunburst, Krassna, and a future line. Initial site grading, fence, surface rock, and testing & commissioning were performed by the owner. All other activities were self-performed by our team. This was a 7,600 MH project built in approximately six months (half of which was during the winter in North Dakota) with an average crew size of 6 people.
